Lady Gaga dominated the MTV Movie Awards winning eight Moon Men awards, including video of the year for "Bad Romance."

At Sunday night's awards, presented by comedian Chelsea Handler, Gaga who landed a record 13 nominations, won seven of her "moon man" trophies for Bad Romance under categories of Video of the year, Best pop video, Best female video, Best dance music video, Best choreography, Best direction and Best editing, including Best collaboration for ‘Telephone’ featuring Beyonce.

Aside for acclaims for her winning streak, Lady Gaga turned heads with her standout style. Making the best dressed list with her first outfit of the night, Gaga hit the VMA white carpet  carpet in a flowing regal Alexander McQueen design, comprised of gold, orange and green with a renaissance-style art print on the front teamed with a long white wig complete with gold-feathered headdress and her famous "Bad Romance" McQueen lobster claw 12 inch heels with a  military-themed entourage in tow .Gaga thanked McQueen in her acceptance speech for Best Female Video for his fashion contributions to the video.

During the ceremony she made two more changes; donning another design by the late McQueen, a flowing black number complete with a cone-bra-like structure and a plastic Mohawk headband. The dress was difficult for her to walk in and required help from several burly men to make her way to the stage to accept her Moonman. She told the crowd, "I didn't really quite think all the wins through. This outfit is too heavy to walk in."

After accepting her final award from Cher, Lady Gaga, wearing her controversial Franc Fernandez designed raw meat dress, which she recently posed in on the cover of Japan's Men's Vogue magazine teamed with matching sandals as well as clutch were also made out of meat, revealed that her new album would be called Born This Way before singing part of its title song.

"Tonight, little monsters, we're the cool kids at the party," she told fans.

Rapper Eminem, who opened the evening's proceedings with performances of hits Not Afraid and Love the Way You Lie - featuring Rihanna - picked up best hip-hop video and best male video for the former song.

Other winners included actor Jared Leto's band 30 Seconds To Mars, winning best rock video for Kings and Queens, and, in technical categories, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, and The Black Keys.

The UK, meanwhile, was represented by rock band Muse, who won best special effects for Uprising, and Florence and the Machine, who won best art direction for Dog Days Over, which she performed at the awards.

One of the most memorable performances came from Taylor Swift, when she performed "Innocent" barefoot, hinting that she forgave Kanye West for stealing the spotlight from her when she won last year,  "Thirty-two and still growing up now, who you are is not what you did, you're still an innocent," she sang in the ballad. “Every one of us has messed up, too, I hope you remember today is never too late to be brand new."

Usher and Linkin Park were among other performers on the night.
